Preschool karate that teaches your little one to focus

Little Lions turns wiggles into focus. Your 3–5-year-old learns to listen, follow directions, take turns and build coordination — all through play, praise and a little bit of martial arts.

What a class looks like

Thirty minutes of movement with a purpose

A Little Lions class is short and structured, just right for preschool attention spans. We start with the basics of lining up and listening to an instructor — skills that carry straight into kindergarten. Kids march, jump, roll and kick through simple drills that build strength, balance and hand-eye coordination without ever feeling like a workout.

Every class mixes in a character lesson. We practice saying “yes, sir” and “yes, ma’am,” waiting our turn, and cheering for a classmate. Children learn that they are capable and safe, and that effort matters more than getting it perfect on the first try. Parents watch from the side of the dojo, so you see the progress every single week.

There are no long forms and no sparring at this age. The focus is on building the listening, focus and coordination that make kids ready for the full kids’ program at age six — ready to learn, ready to listen, and proud of their yellow belt.

FAQ

Little Lions questions, answered

Is my 3–5-year-old ready for a karate class?

Little Lions is designed specifically for preschool attention spans — short, structured classes with lots of movement and praise. No prior experience or coordination is needed. If your child can follow simple directions and enjoy playing, they will fit right in.

How long is a Little Lions class?

Little Lions classes run about 30 minutes — short enough to keep a preschooler engaged and long enough to build real skill. Most families find their child wants to stay longer.

Do parents stay for the class?

Yes. Parents are welcome to watch from the side of the dojo every week, so you see your child’s progress firsthand. Many parents stay and get to know the other families.

What does the first class cost?

Your first class is completely free, and every new student also receives a free uniform. Wear comfortable clothes and bare feet on the mat — no gear needed for your first visit.

When can my child move up to the kids’ program?

Students typically move into the kids’ classes around age six, once their listening and focus are ready. The Little Lions path (from white to yellow belt) is designed to make that transition smooth and exciting.
